Sustainability is a continuous part of how we work at HSP — in small decisions and in long-term projects. We focus on solutions that make our operations more efficient, reduce environmental impact, and support a safer, more reliable energy infrastructure. It’s not about big claims, but about consistent progress and accountable actions that improve the way we operate today and tomorrow.
Our steps towards smarter, responsible operations.
Our approach to sustainability is built on practical measures that make a real difference in our day-to-day work. From improving energy efficiency to optimizing technologies and reducing waste, we focus on actions that are measurable and meaningful. These steps may vary in scale, but each one contributes to more responsible and efficient operations across HSP.
Introduction of RIS Technology
RIS (Resin Impregnated Synthetic) technology replaces traditional insulation systems with advanced synthetic materials, creating bushings that are both more environmentally friendly and technically superior . This breakthrough innovation features capacitance-graded cores for optimized electrical field control, enhanced safety, and extended operational lifespan while significantly reducing environmental impact.
Clean Air Technology for Gas-Filled DFGs
HSP’s Clean Air Technology utilizes a carefully balanced blend of 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen — pure, natural air refined for high‑voltage applications. The result is exceptional operational safety, reliable performance, and a significantly lower carbon footprint, all while eliminating maintenance requirements.
SF₆ Substitution in Our Dry-Filled DFGs
By eliminating SF₆ (a greenhouse gas 23,500 times more potent than CO₂) from our dry-filled transformers, we've achieved substantial environmental benefits .
Our SF₆-free alternatives use advanced solid insulation materials that deliver equivalent performance while reducing annual CO₂ equivalent emissions by over 500 tons, positioning HSP as a leader in sustainable high-voltage technology.
Responsibility Means:
Don't Wait, Act
At HSP, we don’t just respond to developments — we follow them closely and contribute where it makes sense. For us, sustainability means staying informed, thinking ahead, and aligning our work with future requirements.
That’s why we participate in organizations such as ZVEI. This enables us to understand emerging regulations and industry standards early on and to prepare accordingly, rather than adjusting at the last minute.
A current example: PFAS
As a responsible technology leader, we have identified all PFAS-containing components along our supply chain and already qualified PFAS-free alternatives. This keeps us ready to act at any time should a ban come into effect – proving that proactive action achieves more than waiting.
